Hi Reader,
I hope you've been getting outside as much as I have. The weather has been amazing here and so tons of gardening has been getting done. It's not complete yet as I still had a bunch of weeds and grass I had to get rid of from last year that I neglected.
By late next week though, there should be a YouTube video out of me getting the garden planted.
This week, I did get another row of carrots planted. Have you been succession planting any carrots? They are one of my favorite crops for kids to grow. Even though they are small, they are the perfect plant to have spread out randomly throughout the garden, so I don't need to stress if an entire packet gets placed in one area or in multiple areas that I didn't plan for. Did you know you can eat the carrot sprouts? They are perfect for topping a salad! If you haven't done carrots in your garden yet, you can learn how to plant carrot seeds today!
It's also time to get those hot weather crops in. We are passed the average last frost date in zone 4 now!
Are you a rebel? I can be. Almost all bell pepper seed packages will tell you to plant 12-16 inches apart. I have personally found that a different bell pepper plant spacing works better. Try it out this year, tell me what you discover!
Get outside and get dirty! Grow some real food that you can feed your family. We all know what happens when you can't control the grocery stores.
Dig into the dirt and have a blessed day!

Hi Reader, Have you cleaned out your garden yet? I started cleaning mine out this week. Between the toddlers and the newborn, it took multiple days, and it's still not like I would like it. But that's okay! Someday, I will have the beautiful, glorious looking garden. Until my kids are grown up though, it's going to be one big hot mess that is effective without being too pretty. So, while I got the trash and junk out, there are now toy bulldozers and a bunch of kitchen spoons in my garden. And...
